The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO)
National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) is the world’s premier hospice and palliative care leadership organization. We continue to break new ground in professional leadership and development, consumer and caregiver services, research, legislative and regulatory advocacy, technical assistance, communications, international development and quality end-of-life care.
NHPCO was founded in 1978 as a charitable organization advocating for the needs of people facing life-limiting illness. Today, NHPCO is the world’s largest and most innovative national membership organization devoted exclusively to promoting access to hospice and palliative care and to maintaining quality care for persons facing the end of life and their families. NHPCO actively challenges its members to focus on creating pathways for care at the end of life by increasing access to eligible patients, improving the quality of hospice and palliative care services and business practices, and integrating palliative care into the hospice community.
